Event Date: Friday, April 4, 2014
Where: NMSU
Body:

Focused Sun’s founder, Dr. Shawn Buckley gives the Verge Fund Lecture at New Mexico State University on Apr. 14, 2014. In the lecture he gives his vision of a low-cost solar panel that can capture 4 times more energy than a conventional photovoltaic panel. But the panel is useless unless it can be made cheaply and easily. He shows how sandwich fabrication technology produces the key component: the sunlight-reflecting mirrors.

Verge Fund Talk Part 1:
In Part 1 Shawn discusses the FourFold technology. He describes the difference between photovoltaic (PV) and hybrid solar technologies, and how they compare in costs and payback calculations. He continues by describing Focused Sun's hybrid solar technology module, its component parts, its manufacturing process and the assembly of module mirrors on site.

Verge Fund Talk Part 2:
In Part 2 Shawn describes Starting a Solar Factory, the business proposition of setting up an independent factory to build FourFold modules. He shows who could start a factory, where they'd get funding to get started, how much it would cost, how to sell the modules and even the long-term possibilities of a factory.
